Vehicle crime - Manselton area

Good evening,

We are working hard to tackle vehicle crime in the Manselton area.

We want to make you aware of 2 incidents reported to us over the weekend.

Cae Bricks Road- approx 19.34-19.38 on Saturday 24th October- Theft of number plates.

Fern Street- approx 01.00am on Sunday 25th October- Youths trying car doors.

Regarding the Fern Street incident, we believe the suspects were possibly looking for insecure vehicles. The opportunist are unknown to residents and are seen trying numerous car door handles.

We will be conducting door to door enquires. Any available CCTV footage will also be downloaded and to be reviewed.

We will be carrying out hot spot patrols in the area and encourage all residents to report any suspicious activity. Please ensure your vehicle is locked and secure at all times.

Your mobile phone, coins for the car park, sunglasses, packs of medication or other items that can earn quick cash are irresistible to the opportunist thief. Remember, the cost of replacing a window is often much more than that of what’s stolen. And it should go without saying that wallets, handbags, purses and credit cards should never be left in an unattended vehicle.

Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime.

If you have been a victim of this type of crime, please report it so we know where this is happening.
